Our Impact

Community Empowerment

We take an active role in the communities our farms are located in, as we strive to make a positive impact on people and our surroundings. We engage with our neighbors to discuss improvement possibilities around our farms and
implement safety and wellbeing measures. We always give priority in hiring to members of the local community and
always seek feedback so we can hear what is important to them. Our staff is active in community outreach efforts such as local donation drives, community projects and cooperatives because giving back and having harmonious, long
term relationships within our community is important to us.

Women Empowerment

We believe that communities thrive when we elevate women’s strengths and skills in order for them to meet their personal goals. We aim to help from within by promoting self-worth and autonomy for women. We are committed to hiring women to empower them economically. We support female-centered nonprofits in Ecuador with our donations.

Blooms Cut to Order

Our flowers are cut to order and usually shipped on the day they are harvested and processed, to minimize overproduction, waste, and unnecessary storage. This, among other sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices, guarantees the long term viability of our business while minimizing adverse impacts.

Responsible Water Usage

We are committed to responsible water use and management. Our water sources are entirely renewable, as we do not make use of wells on our farms, but rather prefer to gather water from available down streams from the nearby Cayambe and Cotopaxi volcanoes, as well as abundant rainwater. Additionally, all of our plants are fed by computerized drip irrigation, ensuring minimum waste and no runoff nor contamination.

Flor Ecuador Certified

We are certified by Flor Ecuador, which promotes good agricultural practices and determines the standards and requirements for producing fresh-cut flowers and foliage in Ecuador. Flor Ecuador ensures the safety and health of workers, blends the efficient management of natural resources, establishes sustainable processes for caring for the environment, and complies with labor standards and legal regulations that guaran tee the well-being of workers.

BASC Member

We are proud to be a part of BASC which is an international business alliance that promotes safe international trade in a vibrant and  secure manner applying internationally recognized standards and security procedures.

Flowers For Kids

We are happy to be a sponsoring farm for the Flowers for Kids program which teaches participants of all ages how to appreciate, care for, and arrange flowers. The goal is to not only educate children about  flowers but also have them experience creating their own bouquets to take home.

Health of Our Employees

The health and safety of our staff is always our top priority. Our employees receive free annual medical care and medication delivery at our on-site medical clinic.

Emotional Impact of Flowers

Flowers are nature’s simple solution to improving one’s emotional health. Being in the presence of flowers triggers happy emotions and heightens feelings of life satisfaction. Researchers found the link between flowers and life satisfaction in a 10-month study of participants’ behavioral and emotional responses to receiving flowers. The results show that flowers are a natural and healthful moderator of moods. They have an immediate impact on happiness, have a long-term positive effect on moods, make intimate connections, and lead to increased contact with family and friends. So not only do flowers make us happier, they have strong positive effects on our emotional well being.

Sustainable Packaging

Native Blooms is committed to using eco-friendly packaging. Our farms are one of the few that use recyclable materials in their packaging. 95% of what arrives at your door is recyclable. Our floral boxes and packaging adhere to international biodegradable criteria.
